ELTON CHIC! ROCKETMAN SINGER IS AUCTIONING HIS WARDROBE ON EBAY

Elton John has put some of his wardrobe up for auction on Ebay, with his trademark suits, shirts and retro frame glasses just some the pieces up for grabs.

The Rocketman singer has recently sold his apartment in Atlanta and is now trying to find a new home for more than 900 of his personal items that were kept in the 13,500-square-foot space.

He has already sold hundreds of unique pieces during an auction with Christie's in February but the popstar is now hauling off another batch of eloquent garments on the online auction site.

The sale, which began last Thursday and ends on Sunday July 7, features a teal blue Richard James suit, an embroided light blue leather jacket and a rather crude pair of Gucci loafers as some of the most outlandish items.

Bids had initially started at $26.60, in ode to the apartment's address on 2660 Peachtree Road, and have since reached up to $6,500, although for some avid collectors this may seem rather affordable.

The pieces are being auctioned off in aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which was founded by the musician in 1992.

Some of the more out there pieces in the collection is a Gianni Versace chaimail sleeveless tank top, a Versace polka dot dress and a bright pink 'Betsey's HOT' shirt from Betsey Johnson.

Speaking ahead of the auction's launch, Elton said: 'Giving new life to the cherished items from my wardrobe has always been special to me. For decades I've donated my closet's treasures to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

'This Pride Month, I'm excited to share my Atlanta treasure trove on eBay, hoping these items will inspire you to express your unique spirit and bring you as much joy as they've brought me.

'Whether you're after high-end luxury or something more laid-back, there's a perfect find for everyone. Even better, every dollar goes to supporting the Elton John AIDS Foundation's work to end LGBTQ+ stigma.'

Prior to its sale late last year for $7.22million, John had held on to the residence in Buckhead's 40-story Park Place high-rise residential tower for more than 30 years.

He considered it his home base when he was touring in the US. Following his 330 concert farewell tour, he is now focused on spending more time with his husband and their children in his native England.

The home that stored parts of his massive collection and is now in the hands of new ownership also includes a two-story dining room, three spacious guest suites, a master retreat outfitted with an adjoining seating area, and an onyx-clad bathtub.

When his Atlanta home initially went up for sale, John spoke to the Wall Street Journal about the process of preparing to let it go and the hundreds of personal pieces for auction.

'I'm afraid I'm not a minimalist. It was a bit of a nightmare to clean and a bit of a nightmare to know where everything was.

'But I've got one of those brains where if something's been moved, I know exactly where it's been moved to. And I put it back in the right place,' he said.
